A blown motor can be costly, especially if the damage is severe enough that the entire engine needs to be replaced or rebuilt. When a motor blowout occurs, the damage affects most of the engine parts and can include a cracked engine block or crankcase, broken connecting rods, damage to the pistons, or problems with the intake and exhaust valves.
